Drax Carbon Capture Permit Granted for Selby Power Station

The Environment Agency has given Drax a key regulatory win, granting a variation to the environmental permit for its Selby power station so carbon capture can be added to the biomass plant. At plant level, the variation covers more than a single capture unit. The planning project itself is designed around post-combustion capture on up to two existing biomass units. The Agency’s case for approval rests on conditions, and the decision document shows how detailed those conditions are.
